First BCEF call of 2014: St. John's in Dover bathrooms
![St. John's in Dover](https://dioceseofnewark.org/sites/default/files/images/StJohnsDover.jpg)
On a walk through the town of Dover, you will come across numerous eateries. The top four restaurants (as ranked on Yelp) feature Peruvian, Mexican, Columbian, and Cuban food – not surprising as nearly 70% of Dover’s population is Hispanic. Your walk will also take you past the Dover train station, the last stop for NJ Transit's Morristown and Montclair-Boonton lines, and a beautiful stone church that has served the community since 1871, St. John’s Episcopal.

For over 100 years, Holy Trinity Church in West Orange has lived into the call of serving their community. This strong tradition is manifested today in ministries that tend to those less fortunate in and around West Orange. Holy Trinity runs both a food pantry and a thrift shop to help their neighbors who are struggling to make ends meet. Christine's Kitchen provides free hot lunches each week for 75 -100 guests. Holy Trinity coordinates these efforts and welcomes the assistance of a diverse group of faith communities from the surrounding area.
The Bishop’s Church Emergency Fund
The Bishop's Church Emergency Fund (BCEF) provides financial assistance when a church in our diocese needs help with emergency, unforeseen building repairs.
When the Bishop identifies a critical need in our diocese, she will issue a call. BCEF subscribers pledge in advance to support work the bishop deems important. Calls are sent via email no more than four times a year and we respectfully request a minimum response of $25 per call.
