Applications are currently being accepted for these four diocesan-related scholarship funds. Read more for eligibility guidelines and application procedures.

UBE Scholarship

Applications for the annual scholarship offered by the Newark Chapter of the Union of Black Episcopalians (UBE) are now being accepted. This scholarship program is open to all high school seniors who are Episcopalians in the Diocese of Newark; actively participating in the life of a congregation in the Diocese of Newark; graduating from high school in 2014; and entering an institution of higher learning in 2014. Mary Rankin Scholarship

Established in 1980 in honor of Episcopal Church Women member Mary Rankin, this scholarship is open to members of an Episcopal Church in the Diocese of Newark, who are involved in church, and school and/or community activities and have applied for admission to an accredited institution of higher learning. The application deadline is April 15, 2014. Find out more.

Gertrude Butts Scholarship

The Gertrude Butts Fund provides undergraduate scholarship assistance to youth in need in the Diocese of Newark. Special emphasis is placed upon those children who are orphaned, half-orphaned, and indigent. The application deadline is May 1, 2014. Find out more.

George E. Rath Scholarship

Established by The Rt. Rev. George E. Rath, 7th Bishop of Newark, this education fund provides children of canonically resident clergy with extra financial assistance for college expenses at accredited four-year education institutions. The application deadline is May 15, 2014. Find out more.
