143rd Annual Diocesan Convention

For this year’s Annual Diocesan Convention, January 27-28, 2017, Diocesan CFO Paul Shackford prepared a detailed presentation of the proposed 2017 diocesan budget in the form of six brief videos that can be viewed online (below). The complete presentation is included in the booklet entitled 2017 Budget for the Diocese of Newark together with additional information, and which was mailed to all deputies.

It is recommended that deputies view the video presentation prior to Convention.

Diocesan Investment Trust announces two changes; welcomes new investors

The Diocesan Investment Trust is the investment vehicle for all funds overseen by the Trustees of the Diocese, and is available to churches that wish to invest in a low-cost option. Currently the DIT has over $56 million of investments, the highest amount it has ever held.

2017 Budget Forum

As part of the annual budget process, the preliminary 2017 budget will be presented at a forum on Wednesday, October 12 at St. Agnes' Church in Little Falls beginning at 7:30 PM, following the Diocesan Council meeting.

Deadline for Congregational Pledges for 2017

Thursday, December 1, 2016

Congregational pledges to the diocese for the year 2017 are due December 1, 2016. Each church will be sent a form in the near future, asking for them to submit an estimate of their 2017 Normal Operating Income (NOI), their percentage pledge for 2017, and the resulting dollar pledge amount. Since the pledge cards are to be approved and signed by the Vestry, plans should be made to review the pledge in November.

CFO announces Diocese of Newark budget process for 2017

The 2017 budget process will follow the same process adopted by Diocesan Council for use in preparing previous budgets. This process more easily allows individuals and organizations to request funding as part of the 2017 Budget. Funding requests for 2017 are due by September 14, 2016.
