At the Convention dinner held on Friday, January 29, 2016, special guests included the Rt. Rev. William "Chip" Stokes, Bishop of New Jersey, and Imam W. Deen Shareef of Masjid Waarith ud Deen in Irvington, who is on the executive team of the Newark Interfaith Coalition for Hope and Peace along with with Bishop Beckwith and Rabbi Matthew Gewirtz. Each briefly addressed the deputies and dinner guests, and videos of their greetings are posted below.

The Rt. Rev. Steven T. Lane, IX Bishop of Maine, was keynote speaker at our 142nd Annual Diocesan Convention. This video shows his sermon at the opening Eucharist on Friday, followed (at 13:07) by his reflections at the conclusion of Convention on Saturday. (Video duration: 20:42.)

In this Mission Minute, you will see three aspects of our Hispanic/Latino ministries in our diocese: a bi-lingual afterschool program at St. Peter’s in Morristown; a diocesan celebration of Hispanic Heritage Day; and a “souper” family café offering food, fellowship and immigration information at St. Paul’s in Paterson.

In December, a number of congregations observed Gun Violence Prevention Sabbath and “Memorials to the Lost.” In this Mission Minute you’ll see highlights from the events at three congregations: St. Peter’s in Clifton, Church of the Redeemer in Morristown and Trinity & St. Philip’s Cathedral in Newark.
