Dear Retired Clergy, Spouses and Surviving Spouses of the Diocese,

On May 30, 2018, the Education & Wellness team from the Church Pension Group will host a meeting and lunch with retired clergy, spouses and surviving spouses in our diocese and I encourage you to attend.

They’ll be discussing your pension and medical benefits, ways to stay healthy, helpful resources, the status of The Church Pension Fund, and more. You’ll also enjoy the fellowship of other retirees.

This year’s Annual Luncheon for retired clergy, their spouses/partners and clergy widows or widowers on Wednesday, May 17, 2017. Our time together will begin with a Chapel Eucharist at 12 noon.

Given that the May 22 Clergy Day was originally scheduled for three days after the Electing Convention, we are moving it to Tuesday, June 12. We will be at Grace, Madison starting at 9 AM for those who wish to attend their Morning Prayer service, and then we’ll gather in Neiman Hall at 9:30 AM for some brief announcements and two reports.

The main feature of the morning will be a presentation by The Very Rev. Tracey Lind and her spouse, Emily Ingalls, entitled "Dementia from the Inside Out and Upside Down."

For the seventh year in a row, Episcopal congregations in towns across northern New Jersey will take to the streets on Ash Wednesday, February 14, marking the beginning of the Christian holy season of Lent by giving “Ashes to Go.”

Because there is a lunch, Clergy are asked to register online for this Listening Meeting by 4 PM on Friday, September 8.

In July, August and September 2017, the Bishop Search/Nominating Committee will hold Listening Meetings as opportunities for all members of the diocese to meet for respectful, responsible dialogue and for an interchange of thoughts and ideas in response to the questions in the Search/Nominating Survey.

 
The Rev. Michael Battle, Ph.D. (right), Herbert Thompson Professorial Chair of Church and Society and director of the Desmond Tutu Center at The General Theological Seminary in NYC will be our keynote speaker.
