Everyone is invited to this conversation about the work of rediscovering our greater calling to an abundance of imagination and productivity. We will talk about how it is we create heart-centered communities of incarnate love where everyone is inspired to participate and everyone’s contribution is honored and respected. We also will consider institutional structures that empower and build bridges between the old and the new.

United Thank Offering "blue box"

The United Thank Offering (UTO) Annual Convention In-gathering will take place during the opening Eucharist on Friday, January 27, when representatives from many of our congregations will present their offerings. The UTO supports projects that address poverty of women and children, make a significant impact, demonstrate new and innovative work, and are a part of a planned diocesan/provincial strategy.

Video announcements can be an effective tool to advertise future events scheduled by your church, groups or committees.

As we’ve done for the past few years, video announcements are being accepted for projection during convention. The project is coordinated by Ms. Jan Paxton. Information can be emailed to Jan at jrpaxton@earthlink.net by Tuesday, January 24. Include the words "convention announcement" in the subject line. Send either attached files and/or text in your note. Images are fine.

Special Convention

The purpose of the Special Convention is:

  1. to amend the diocesan canon on insurance to conform with requirements of the Denominational Health Plan (DHP);
  2. to adopt a process for the implementation of the DHP; and
  3. to receive a report from the Mission Strategy Committee.

Who Should Attend?

The deputies and alternates certified from the congregations to the January 2012 Annual Convention are the representatives expected to attend the Special Convention.

Convention Deadline: Names submitted to the Secretary of Convention for the Necrology

Names submitted for the necrology should be for those individuals who have been active on committees, commissions, councils and other bodies of the Diocese of Newark or the wider church.
