It’s that time of year when those who are in Medicare are confronted with options to change their coverage. Medicare Open Enrollment Period (OEP, also known as Annual Enrollment Period) starts October 15 and ends December 7. During this period Medicare beneficiaries can enroll in or disenroll from a Medicare Advantage Plan (Part C) or a standalone Medicare prescription drug Plan (Part D). The truth is that a beneficiary can enroll in a plan and then change to another plan all within the OEP.

A home that was ideal 10, 20, or 40 years ago may no longer be the right fit. What once was a wonderfully spacious home with room for a growing family could have become an overly large home crammed with years of collections, with stairs too difficult to traverse, and isolated from needed services.

On June 12, 2016, 86 members of the diocese were honored with the David P. Hegg II Lifetime Achievement Award at the 20th annual Senior Ministries Evensong, held at St. Peter's Church in Morristown with the Rt. Rev. Mark M. Beckwith, Bishop of Newark, officiating.

We’ve all seen it – the little old lady who can barely see over the steering wheel, the old man who drives five miles down the highway with his blinker on, or the headlines proclaiming another senior citizen has confused gas pedal and brake pedal, and has driven into a building.
