The annual clergy gathering on the Tuesday of Holy Week (April 15) begins at 11 a.m. at Trinity & St. Philip’s Cathedral in Newark with a Eucharist (Bishop Beckwith will preach and celebrate) and a Blessing of Oils. (For those of you new to the Diocese, the only clergy who vest are those who have a role in the service.)
There will be a basket in the Narthex for those wishing to make a monetary offering at the end of the service; funds collected will be sent to the Church of Jerusalem.
After the service, clergy will pose together for a photo, indoors or out, depending on the weather! Then all will go to 24 Rector Street, a one-block walk, to share a noonday meal which has been modestly upgraded since last year.
Bishop Beckwith expects attendance at this event by clergy in the diocese. Please RSVP by Friday, April 4 using this online form. Regrets should be emailed to Kay Lark (klark@dioceseofnewark.org).
