George E. Rath Scholarship Fund

Established by The Rt. Rev. George E. Rath, 7th Bishop of Newark, this education fund provides children of canonically resident clergy with extra financial assistance for college expenses at accredited four-year education institutions. Application Deadline: May 15 (for the academic year beginning in the Fall).

Application Form

The application is one page and is attached below in PDF format. If possible, we suggest you download and open the PDF and use the “Fill and Sign” button at the top to fill in the blanks and add both required signatures, save, then submit via email to Chloe Caprice (see below). If this isn’t possible, we suggest you fill out the form manually, scan and email it to Ms. Caprice. If it is simply not possible to submit online, please email Ms. Caprice if a hard copy application needs to be sent by mail.

Eligibility

Children of canonically resident clergy or of deceased clergy who were canonically resident in the Diocese of Newark at the time of death. The applicant must have been accepted or currently enrolled at an accredited four-year institution of higher learning.

Awards

Award notifications are emailed to and checks are mailed directly to the student so please include current contact information.
