Lenten Meditation for Wednesday March 22,2017

Psalm 119:105

“Your word is a lantern to my feet and a light upon my path.”

What a wonderful image and what a comforting thought!  As each of us is on our own, individual journey, so are the larger ripples of our life:  family, friends, place of worship, place of work, place where we lay our heads at the end of the day, places where we sing, dance and enjoy life on this earth.  The Diocese of Newark is on a journey entitled Joining God in Shaping our Future.  More and more people of God are listening, watching and attending – to the lantern that is the Scripture, to the light of God that shines in each person we come in contact with, to the light upon the path as shown by our God who is up to something, out ahead of us in our neighborhoods.  We must let our own lights shine in all the ripples of our life and keep our eyes open for those glimmers of God working in our communities and in our diocese.
