[TAPinto.net] At last Sunday’s worship service, Rev. Mary Davis, rector of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Chatham, called the children forward to bless the backpacks they carry to school every day. Also front and center was a box of school supplies donated by the congregation for children who may not have all they need for their schoolwork.

Rev. Davis noted that the congregation was praying not only for the children and their school years, but also for the school administrators and teachers. She made a point of reaching out to the Chatham School Superintendent to offer her support and let him know St. Paul’s was praying for him. “It’s important for us all to work together in community,” she said. “We take our “Main Street” location seriously and will do whatever necessary to support the Chatham communities.”
