The Director of Communications will take leadership in sharing the mission and activities of Christ Episcopal Church and being the strategic leader in communicating that information within and outside the community. The Director of Communications should be able to prioritize effectively and communicate clearly in a variety of different ways.

Responsibilities include website updates, creation and sending of press releases and other public relations, creation of flyers for parish programs, weekly preparation of e-news, announcement sheet and order of worship. Occasionally the creation and upkeep of bulletin boards. Monthly newsletter and new resident mailing. Annual preparation of the Parish Directory and Annual report. The Director of Communications also manages our social media presence.

The knowledge, skills and abilities for this position include: strong verbal and written communication skills and strong computer skills (Mac Computers, Microsoft Office, Constant Contact, Google Docs and Calendar) In addition, the candidate should demonstrate the ability to be a team player, attention to detail and follow-though, flexibility, dependability and punctuality.

The Director of Communications reports to the Rector working 15 hours per week. The Director of Communications should have a Bachelor’s degree in communications or related field or 5 years of experience in related field. PR experience a plus. Candidate must not be a current or former parishioner.
