On Saturday, June 16, 2012, the Diocese of Newark held its first multi-county Habitat build day.
Joe Stewart, who organized the event along with Patrick Forsyth, reported, "The build day went really well. God gave us a picture perfect day with comfortable temps."
A Habitat build day is the epitome of "many hands make light work." By the time a project is complete, literally hundreds of people have added their gifts of time and talent.
At this first multi-county build day, our diocese added the efforts of a total of 50 people, from 16 different congregations, working on seven different sites in six of the eight counties that are part of our diocese. This was an awesome start -- let's "build" on it!
