Episcopal House welcomed its second tenant on June 2 with the arrival of Victoria Foundation, located on the fifth floor previously occupied by the diocesan Finance Department.

The diocese and Victoria Foundation entered into a ten-year lease in March, after which the space was renovated to accommodate their staff needs.

The second tenant is a satellite office of the Sadie Nash Leadership Project, whose main office is in Brooklyn NY and has been a tenant since last October located in a section of the first floor. The Sadie Nash Leadership Project was founded in 2001 to promote leadership and activism among young women.

Victoria Foundation is a private grant making institution founded in 1924 by Mr. Hendon Chubb in honor of his mother, Victoria Eddis Chubb. Since the early 1960’s, Victoria Foundation’s trustees have targeted giving to programs that impact the cycle of poverty in Newark, New Jersey. In the 1970’s, a second priority was initiated to protect the environment throughout the state of New Jersey. Within Newark, funded projects address K-12 education reform, neighborhood revitalization, and strengthening youth and families.
