Join Bishop Beckwith to celebrate the special work of the ministries that receive support from the Episcopal Diocese of Newark through the Alleluia Fund outreach grants. Engage in conversations and learn about the impact of their ministry and how they are improving the lives of people in our diocese. Tea and refreshments will be served.

This event is free, and you are welcome to bring guests. To help us in providing refreshments, please register.

All Saints Community Service and Development Corporation (Hoboken, NJ)

The Jubilee Center’s mission is to equip children from our city’s public housing neighborhood with the tools, not only to survive, but to overcome the many barriers they face in their young lives.  The Center helps children with homework, enrichment and provides dinner.  The Diocese of Newark supports a summer educational program. The Jubilee Center is a project of All Saints Community Service and Development Corporation.

Cedar Hill CDC at St. John’s (Boonton, NJ)

Cedar Hill CDC at St. John’s provides after-school programming for low income families and their children in Boonton and offers educational and social opportunities. Started in 2000, their mission is to serve their neighbors in need – low-income families in the Boonton area, by working with sustained commitment to improve their quality of life in tangible ways.

Christ Church CDC (Hackensack, NJ)

In 1997 Christ Church CDC (CCCDC) was formed to reach out to people in need and to initiate programs that will be a source of change and hope for people in Bergen County. The Center acts as a transitional center to move people from homelessness to housing by providing services like temporary shelter, housing placement and support, a wellness program, meals and a day program.

Greater Life Inc. (Newark, NJ)

Greater Life has been serving the youth of Newark, New Jersey’s South Ward since 1986. They provide social services to over 1,500 youth from ages 7 to 19 each year, and their family members, reaching out to kids suffering from poverty, family instability, and exposure to gang culture and drugs.

Faith and Hope Pantry (Christ Church, Teaneck, NJ)

The Diocese of Newark supports the Faith and Hope Pantry, a ministry of Christ Church, Teaneck, to help it meet the increased demand at the food pantry, which the parish can no longer sustain on its own.

Friends for Life (Oradell, NJ)

Friends for Life offers a vital, safe, supportive community for men and women infected with and affected by HIV/AIDS, providing an inclusive alternative to the isolation caused by illness and discrimination.

Haven of Hope for Kids (Hope, NJ)

Haven of Hope for Kids’ mission is to provide cost-free country retreats and an ongoing network of support for children dealing with cancer and other serious illnesses and their families. They hope to create a renewed sense of mutual support, courage, confidence, joy and optimism.

The Hoboken Shelter, established in 1982, is owned and operated by a non-profit housing corporation made up of ministers and laity from houses of worship, as well as several Hoboken community leaders. The Hoboken Shelter transforms lives by providing meals for the hungry, shelter for the homeless, and services to support people to become housed.

Montclair Emergency Services for the Homeless (Montclair, NJ)

Montclair Emergency Services for the Homeless (MESH) was created to help protect the most vulnerable neighbors from the harsh winter elements. They provide a warm and safe respite, nourishing meals and laundry service from December through March.

NEWARK AACTS Young Adult Urban Internship Program (Newark, NJ)

NEWARK ACTS seeks to nurture young adults to become community leaders with a heart for ministry, an understanding of the complexities of urban life, and a deep spirituality that integrates their desire to serve with a passion for justice and peace. In its second year, the program supports eleven interns who live in community and work for local agencies and organizations with a social justice mission.

The Newark School of Theology is an ecumenical and interfaith school of theology for persons who desire to take advance courses in theology. The diocese helps fund a scholarship program for students in need of scholarship assistance.

Senior Resource Center (Chester, NJ)

The Senior Resource Center provides assistance to people who are overwhelmed by the complexity of the issues and the challenges of aging by means of advocacy, support, information, education, training and referral. In addition to being a clearing house for support and services available to seniors and caregivers in western Morris County, the Senior Resource Center provides a supportive environment for seniors and caregivers, advocates for seniors and their caregivers, and provides a range of educational and training activities on a variety of issues confronting the aging population.

St. Paul’s Episcopal Church – After School Program (Paterson, NJ)

St. Paul’s After School Program provides after school learning for students from ten Paterson public schools. The After School Program offers mentoring, one-on-one tutoring, enrichment classes, field trips and community service projects.

Sussex County Interfaith Hospitality Network (Newton, NJ)

The Sussex County Interfaith Hospitality Network was created in 1998, in response to the growing number of homeless families in Sussex, Warren and Morris Counties. A network of volunteers from local congregations provides emergency shelter, meals and support services to families & single women who are homeless.

Toni's Kitchen at St. Luke's Church (Montclair, NJ)

Toni’s Kitchen is a food ministry at St Luke’s Episcopal Church in Montclair, New Jersey, where as many as 70 to 80 guests are offered warm hospitality while being served a hot, nutritious luncheon every Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 11:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. They also offer a cold weather program for guests during winter months on Mondays and Tuesdays from 8 - 9 a.m.
