Province II Stewardship Web Conference: Stewardship is About Discipleship…Not Membership

Province II Stewardship Web Conference
Sat, Apr 5 2014, 8:30am to 3:30pm

An important stewardship web conference will be held on Saturday, April 5 from 8:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. Sponsored by the diocesan Fund Development Committee, and working together with others in Province II, this conference will be held in  two locations in the Diocese of Newark – in Newark and in Madison – as well as in seven other dioceses at the same time.

This exciting and significant step forward in fostering transformative stewardship approaches as well as the best in stewardship techniques will be presented by three of the finest practitioners in the Episcopal Church:

  • Mary McGregor, Director of Development in the Diocese of Texas, will speak about the importance of Becoming an Agent for Change as part of our stewardship lives
  • The Reverend Timothy Dombek, Canon for Stewardship and Development in the Diocese of Arizona, will talk about What Gives with Giving?
  • The Reverend Jerry Keucher, Consultant for the Episcopal Church Foundation and author, will focus on moving from Theology to Reality

“I have been fortunate to participate in workshops with each of these speakers,” Paul Shackford, Diocesan CFO said, “and each brings an important, useful, and practical way of understanding stewardship and making it more a part of our lives in our congregations.”

Each speaker will make a one-hour presentation, followed by questions and answers.  This will be followed by time for us to discuss what we’ve heard and talk about how we can use this information in our own congregations.

”Our hope,” Paul said, “is that at least one person from each congregation will join us on April 5th.  This first-of-its-kind stewardship web conference is an opportunity for each congregation to take the next step as stewards of God’s abundance.  We look forward to your participation.”

Cost

$10 per person. Lunch will be provided, and morning snacks will be available starting at 8:30 a.m. The program starts promptly at 9:00 am.
