Living Room Conversations: Healthy conversations in conflicted times

Living Room Conversations
Sat, Oct 22 2022, 8:30am to 1:15pm

Knowing how to have a healthy conversation in an environment of conflict is a skill that is useful in every aspect of life. It is vitally important not only in our congregations but in the rest of our lives – especially as we approach Election Day and the holiday season. How can we lovingly have conversations about difficult topics while remaining in relationship?

Living Room Conversations offers simple conversation guides to empower communities toward belonging, allowing individuals to feel seen and heard. In this highly interactive workshop, we'll dive into the principles and design of the Living Room Conversations model and build your confidence in hosting and organizing your own conversations. We'll share best practices from faith communities, highlight solutions to common challenges in this work, and take time to practice with questions from conversation guides.

Becca KearlBecca Kearl (right), Executive Director of Living Room Conversations, will lead this half-day, in-person workshop.

ALL are welcome to attend. Parishes are encouraged to send a group.

Planned schedule: The workshop will begin with check in at 8:30 AM and conclude at 1:15 PM. A morning snack and a box lunch will be provided.

Cost: $25 per person, to cover the morning snack, boxed lunch, and materials.
