Clergy Retreat with the Bishop 2024

Holy Cross Monastery
Tue, Mar 5 2024, 6:00pm to Thu, Mar 7 2024, 12:30pm

This year's Clergy Retreat will begin on Tuesday, March 5, and end on Thursday, March 7.

Retreat Leader:

The Rev. Dr. Christopher Corbin grew up in Florida as the son of a United Methodist minister. He attended Florida Southern College, Yale Divinity School, and Vanderbilt University before moving to South Dakota to oversee local formation and clergy transitions for the Diocese of South Dakota. He currently lives in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, with his wife, Portia, and five kids (two of the human variety and three of the cat kind) where he is rector of Trinity Episcopal Church. Chris serves as the editor-in-chief of Earth & Altar magazine and his book, with the dubious honor of longest title in the Routledge Studies in Romanticism, is The Evangelical Party and Samuel Taylor Coleridge’s Return to the Church of England. Beyond this, Chris spends far too much time drawing cartoon versions of saints.

Accommodations

There are a number of private bathrooms on each floor of the main building, shared by both men and women. Please also be aware that the monastery observes Greater Silence each night (7:50 PM – immediately after Compline – until 8:30 AM).

Special Needs

Please let us know only if you have allergies to milk, eggs, fish, shellfish, tree nuts, peanuts, mushrooms, wheat or soybeans. They are not able to accommodate food requests outside of these major food allergies. Those with specific allergies are encouraged to bring any supplemental food (please label and put in the guest refrigerator near the coffee/tea area – a microwave is also available) – there is no price discount in any case.

Mobility Issues

They installed a new elevator, and it is working! Please let us know if you have any mobility issues though.
