Death in our diocesan family: The Rev. Roger Charles Snyder

The Rev. Roger Charles Snyder

With sadness we share the news, just received, of the passing of the Rev. Roger Charles Snyder, 86, on March 24, 2014 in Staunton, VA.

Ordained to the Episcopal priesthood in 1962, he served as Rector of St. Peter's in Mount Arlington from 1981 until his retirement in 1992. Previously, he had served as a Methodist pastor in Ohio and Virginia, and as an Episcopal priest in Virginia and Pennsylvania.

He was survived by his wife, Rhoda Chaucile Snyder, two daughters, four grandchildren, a sister and a brother.

A service was held on March 31, 2014, at Trinity Episcopal Church in Staunton, VA, where he had served as Clergy Associate since his retirement.

Memorial contributions may be made in his honor to Trinity Episcopal Church, P.O. Box 208, Staunton, VA 24402.

Good and gracious God, the light of the faithful and shepherd of souls, you sent your servant Roger to be a priest in your Church to feed your sheep with your word and to guide them by his example; give us the grace to keep the faith he taught and to follow in his footsteps. We entrust him into your unfailing mystery of Love and Hope through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
