Volunteers can sign up online for Sandy recovery efforts

By:
The Rev. Deacon Chris McCloud, Diocesan Disaster Coordinator

The long-term recovery process from Hurricane Sandy, especially in Staten Island, will be going on for years. The dioceses of Newark, New Jersey, New York and Long Island are working together with Episcopal Relief & Development (ERD) to develop a regional structure to address some of the coordination issues, including developing a sound plan to effectively manage volunteers.

If you or your congregation is looking to assist the most affected dioceses of New Jersey, New York or Long Island, please use the Disaster Recovery Volunteer Registration Form to provide basic information about your volunteers, their availability and skills to be offered. This information will be forwarded to the designated volunteer coordinator and/or disaster coordinator for the dioceses that are seeking and organizing volunteer efforts in their areas.

Your patience is requested to allow time for the application to be processed. You will be contacted directly by the diocese that is requesting assistance.

If you have any questions prior to submitting your application, please contact Deacon Chris McCloud, Diocesan Disaster Coordinator at clmccloud@tpcsinc.org.
