On Sunday, Feb. 13, 2022, the Union of Black Episcopalians Diocese of Newark Chapter celebrated the life and ministry of the Rev. Absalom Jones, the first person of African descent ordained a deacon and priest in the Episcopal Church, in a service at Trinity & St. Philip's Cathedral in Newark. (Time: 1:28:25.)

The Rt. Rev. Carlye J. Hughes, XI Bishop of Newark served as Celebrant, and the Reverend Melvin Wilson of St. Matthew AME Church in Orange, NJ was the guest preacher. (Click here to jump to his sermon.)
