September 2012 Grants by the Ward J. Herbert Fund

On September 8, 2012, Diocesan Council ratified a total of $35,496 in grants recommended by the Ward J. Herbert Fund Board for its second 2012 granting cycle.

The Ward J. Herbert Fund provides funds for buildings that are used for congregational functions. Top priority is given to funds for deterioration of structure, hazards, and emergencies, such as required roof repairs and inoperative boilers. The fund's second priority is interior and exterior renovation to provide for expanded mission of the congregation. Grants from the Ward J. Herbert Fund must be matched dollar for dollar by the congregation. There are three funding cycles each year.

The amounts granted for the September 2012 funding cycle were:

$12,750 to St. John's, Montclair (Church tower & Turret; flat roofs)
$3,175 to Atonement, Tenafly (Exterior stairs repairs)
$10,600 to Christ Church, Bloomfield/Glen Ridge (Parish hall roof)
$2,321 to St. Peter's, Mt. Arlington (Parish hall boiler replacement)
$1,425 to St. John's, Dover (Church roof repairs)
$5,225 to Christ Church, Teaneck (Church roof & re-pointing wall)
