O Antiphons Meditation for Advent

O Antiphons Meditation for Advent
By:
The Rev. Deacon Deborah R. Drake

Every year the Deacons in the Diocese of Newark attend at least one retreat together. This year we had our retreat via Zoom. Archdeacon Diane Riley and I met with Spiritual Director Jan Valentine for Advent Retreat ideas, and Jan created an Advent meditation video that we would now like to share with the diocese as our gift to you.

A Certified Clinical Musician, Jan plays therapeutic harp for healing. She was referred to us by Angie Rispoli, who many of you may know as a Spiritual Director and Retreat facilitator. You can see more about Jan’s work at janshealingharp.com.

The video is an hour-long meditation with music, sacred readings, silence, art, and prayer. It offers a time set apart from the world and fosters a contemplative awareness of God's presence. It can be paused at any time to allow for more reflection time or watched in segments.

The Deacons watched it together one night and then reconvened a few days later to reflect on it.

Jan Valentine has given the O Antiphons Meditation video to the Deacons and we would love to share it with everyone as an Advent gift from the Deacons.
