In this photo from the 2017 Mission Minutes, the congregations of Christ Church, Teaneck and St. Paul's Church, Englewood work together to assemble 700 weekend snack packs for local children who face hunger when school meals are not available.

Our 2019 Diocesan Convention is our new Bishop's first, and to help her learn more about our diverse diocese we would like to share stories from as many congregations as possible.

Therefore, I ask each congregation to send me a photo showing your congregation at its best, along with a description of what's happening in that photo. Big bonus points if the photo shows two or more congregations working together collaboratively.

The theme of Convention is Gifted - Called - Sent. This theme may provide a helpful framework for you as you write the description of what's happening in your photo. How is your congregation gifted? How did you discern a call? Where did you feel you were being sent?

Photos and descriptions must be submitted no later than Thursday, December 20 to nnicholson@dioceseofnewark.org.

You can see previous Mission Minutes from 2010-2018 at dioceseofnewark.org/convention/mission-minutes.

Photo requirements

In order that photos look their best when projected on the big screens at Convention, they must be as high resolution as possible. Therefore, photos should be original, unedited JPG files. Rest assured that I will do any necessary photoshopping to make them look their best.

You may send multiple photos to choose from, but only one photo from each congregation will be used.
