Marge Christie Fund to support churches' online worship

Marge Christie

At its October 14 meeting, Diocesan Council approved a second funding cycle of the Marge Christie Fund for 2020 in response to the Covid-19 pandemic. The Marge Christie Fund has a balance of unallocated funds after the previous cycle, and Diocesan Council and the Marge Christie Fund Board felt this would be a great opportunity to assist our congregations with this unexpected expense for this extraordinary time.

All purchases of physical A/V equipment to support online worship, made between the Governor’s first Executive Order declaring a state of Emergency on March 9, 2020 and November 15, 2020, are eligible for consideration.

Primary funding will go to reimburse cost of A/V equipment including cameras, tripods, microphones etc.

Secondary consideration would be towards installation and Wi-Fi equipment upgrades and installation.

Basically, submit all A/V equipment receipts since March 9, 2020, and the Marge Christie Fund Board will see what they can do!

All eligible applications will be considered and the funds will be divided equally among all applications to cover the qualified purchases. For some churches, this could cover up to 100% of the cost of equipment expenses!

The application deadline is 12 noon on Monday November 16, 2020. Awards will be ratified by Council at their December 9 meeting. Funding will be disbursed after that date.
