Important Information -- Hurricane Irene

As reports continue to trickle in about damage to church property from Hurricane Irene -- the Diocesan Property Manager, Jim Caputo, is aware of at least 18 congregations dealing with insurance claims -- we want to make sure you're aware there are resources available from Episcopal House to assist you in this process.

If you have hurricane-related damage to your church property, please contact me as soon as possible with the following information:

  • What damage has the property sustained?
  • Who provides your insurance, and have you contacted them?
  • What is your deductible and coverage for your buildings and contents?
  • What (if any) is the projected loss (gap between coverage and actual cost) you might face?

As you know, time is critical in cases of property damage and insurance claims, so please email or call me as soon as possible.
