The Venerable Trevor E. G. ThomasWith sadness we share the news of the death of the Venerable Trevor E. G. Thomas, 95, on Sunday, December 27, 2020. He served as rector of Holy Innocents, West Orange from 1951 until his retirement in 1989. In 1969 he was elected Archdeacon of the Archdeaconry of Essex (a predecessor of diocesan Districts), thereby awarding him the title "Venerable." Read his full obituary.

Trevor was predeased by his wife of 56 years, Laura Lee (Swanson) Thomas. He is survived by his children, David Thomas (Dana), Brian Thomas (Marilyn), and Anne Thomas; his grandchildren, Trevor Lee Thomas (Phoebe), Cole Thomas (Emily), Katherine Stoiber (Andrew), Maggie Coats-Thomas, and Owen Coats-Thomas; his great-grandchildren, Ada, John, Trevor, and Grant; and his nephew, Philip Gwyn Jones.

A celebration of his life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in his name to Christ Church, Westerly, R.I.

Good and gracious God, the light of the faithful and shepherd of souls, you sent your servant Trevor to be a priest in your Church to feed your sheep with your word and to guide them by his example; give us the grace to keep the faith he taught and to follow in his footsteps. We entrust him into your unfailing mystery of Love and Hope through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
