votive candles

With sadness we share the news of the death of the Rev. James Malcolm "Jim" Warrington, 95, on August 17, 2022, in Falls Church, VA.

After serving in the Army in World War II and then working at the NSA, Jim was called to the Episcopal Priesthood and ordained in 1960. He served as an Associate Priest at several church, including Church of the Atonement, Tenafly (1963-1964) before enlisting in the Air Force to serve in the Vietnam War as a military chaplain. His desire to to be a priest, and more specifically a military chaplain, was inspired by having known and deeply respected the Rev. George L. Fox, one of the "Four Chaplains" who heroically gave their lives trying to save others during the sinking of the SS Dorchester in 1943. Read Jim's full obituary here.

Jim is survived by a nephew, a niece, a niece-in-law, a grand-niece, and many friends.

Good and gracious God, the light of the faithful and shepherd of souls, you sent your servant Jim to be a priest in your Church to feed your sheep with your word and to guide them by his example; give us the grace to keep the faith he taught and to follow in his footsteps. We entrust him into your unfailing mystery of Love and Hope through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
