With sadness we share the news of the death of the Rev. Allen Arthur Hinman, 77, on February 20, 2020. He had served as Rector of St. John's, Passaic from 1985 until his retirement in 2004.
A choral funeral mass will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2020 at 11 AM at Grace, Nutley (200 Highfield Lane). Clergy are welcome to vest. A potluck repast luncheon will follow in the parish hall.
Allen is survived by his wife, Marion "Mon" Hinman. Condolences may be sent to her at 149 Pennington Ave, Passaic, NJ 07055-4713.
In lieu of flowers, please bring a potluck to the luncheon following the funeral mass. (If you can’t bring a potluck dish, plan to stay anyway - there will be plenty of food.)
Good and gracious God, the light of the faithful and shepherd of souls, you sent your servant Allen to be a priest in your Church to feed your sheep with your word and to guide them by his example; give us the grace to keep the faith he taught and to follow in his footsteps. We entrust him into your unfailing mystery of Love and Hope through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
