Kimberly A. BarcusWith sadness we share the news of the death of Kimberly A. Barcus, 44, on September 12, 2023. She was the daughter of Sheila Barcus, an active diocesan lay leader who has served on Diocesan Council and the ACTS/VIM Board, as well as Vice President of the Union of Black Episcopalians.

Kimberly’s funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Tuesday, September 19, 2023 at St. Andrew's, Newark, with the Rev. George Dredden III of Trinity & St. Philip's Cathedral, Newark officiating. The service will be preceded by a viewing at 10 AM, and followed by a repast in St. Andrew's Parish Hall.

Kimberly was born on August 10, 1979 to Sheila and her husband Herbert, and raised in Irvington. She graduated from Union Catholic High School in Scotch Plains in 1997, and then studied at Fairleigh Dickinson University.

She began her occupational career at A & P in Montvale until the company closed several years later. She then tended bar at Mrs. G's Lounge in East Orange. She had many hobbies, running track in high school, skating, golf, bowling and playing pool.

Kimberly brought laughter to everyone. The love she had for her family, friends and colleagues will forever be remembered.

Lord, for your faithful people life is changed, not ended. When the body of our earthly dwelling lies in death, we gain an everlasting dwelling place in heaven. Lord, grant eternal rest, forever in the radiance of your light. Amen.
