Death in our diocesan family: Horace Rutherford "Ford" Livengood, II

With sadness we share the news of the death of Horace Rutherford "Ford" Livengood, II, suddenly on March 15, 2023.

A funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, March 25, 2023, at Christ Church, Newton, and live streamed to Christ Church's YouTube channel.

At the diocesan level, Ford served on the Commission on Ministry (1998-2004), and on the Ecclesiastical Court, precursor to the Disciplinary Board (2004-2009). He also served on the vestry and as the senior warden at St. Andrew and Holy Communion, South Orange, and then on the vestry at Christ Church, Newton. Read his full obituary.

Ford is survived by his wife of nearly 40 years, Geri; their children, Rebecca and James; son-in-law Nathaniel Wenstrup and daughter-in-law Sara Livengood; four grandchildren; his sister Becky; and many nieces, nephews, in-laws, and friends whom he loved so much. He was predeceased by his brother John.

God, our Father, we thank you that you have made each of us in your own image, and given us gifts and talents with which to serve you. We thank you for Ford, the time we shared with him, the good we saw in him, the love we received from him. Now give us strength and courage, to leave him in your care, confident in your promise of eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
