Today, October 23, 2019, marks 100 days until the Diocesan Convention, on January 31st & February 1, 2020. Pursuant to the Constitution and the Rules of Order of the Diocese, I have sent via US mail, Notice of said Convention to each Congregation and Canonically Resident Non-Parochial Clergy. All further communications from this Office will be via electronic means, unless deemed necessary to print and mail.
This is a new approach which will significantly cut down on expenses & consumables. (In prior years, you may recall, you would receive a full packet of information via mail) The postcard alone reduces the expense by $2.35 per unit sent.
It should also be noted that if you or other members of your deputation would prefer to still receive hard copies of all Convention Business, you must communicate this request to me in writing(email). I will be more than happy to accommodate those requests. The Convention will assume all costs necessary to provide those materials to you.
What is attached here today is the Convention Business Information Packet, which has been revamped with new more pertinent information concerning deadlines, the nominations and resolutions procedures, updated job descriptions for elected offices, and instructions on how to download the Voting App to your mobile devices.
Please read this information carefully.
There will be a second PDF released in the coming days with all the pertinent information regarding the hotel accommodations as well as other Convention related matters.
