To the Diocese of Newark:
We know that you are hard at work making sure every member of your congregation is aware of and has the opportunity to complete the online survey. We recognize the summer is a hard time to get this work done, but please continue the push for people to participate in the survey before it closes on August 16, 2017. To date we have almost 200 surveys completed.
In addition, the Search/Nominating Committee will hold Listening Meetings in July, August and September of this year. At these meetings, members of the Search/Nominating Committee will lead small group discussions. These Events will be opportunities for all members of the diocese to meet for respectful, responsible dialogue and for an interchange of thoughts and ideas in response to the qualitative questions included in this Search/Nominating Survey. The information gathered from the Survey and the Listening Meetings will provide a forum for the laity, the clergy and the staff to be included in the discernment process and will help the Search/Nominating Committee to develop an accurate profile of our diocese.
We have several meetings scheduled on a variety of days and in various locations. We hope you can attend one. Please note that some meetings are for targeted audiences (Lay only, Clergy only or diocesan staff only). Your participation in one of the listening meetings will help us continue to see what God is up to in the Diocese of Newark. Mark your calendar for the date and location that works best for you.
