Announcing a new experiment at The Hilton in Parsippany: Episcopal Vo-Tech!

Episcopal Vo-Tech
By:
John King, Secretary of Convention

In keeping with our very successful Vestry University program, we are pleased to introduce a new program designed to create and enhance supportive networks of individuals in congregations that work on specific roles: Episcopal Vo-Tech! As in Vocational & Technical - the roles that every church has and perhaps needs to seek and share wisdom about. Network with peers from other congregations, discuss best practices, share challenges and explore opportunities!

This program will run during Convention itself, in the workshop spaces while  Convention is in session in the main ballroom on Saturday morning. (Please note, Deputies to Convention are to remain at Convention.) This is an opportunity for the diocese to enhance its ability to support and resource the talented individuals within our congregations. For our inaugural year, we will invite Property Managers, Buildings & Grounds committee members; Youth Group & Sunday School Leaders; among others.

The program time frame will be 9:30 - 11:15 AM, after which participants will be able to join the Convention Plenary to hear some important diocesan reports including the Bishop’s Search, and then join us for lunch and our afternoon workshops.

We hope you will encourage members of your congregations to come and take part in this exciting new event in the life of the Diocese. Tickets will be $25 and will include lunch. Register and pay online by Friday, January 12.

More details about workshops will be announced in the coming days.
