This Advent, make the world a better place through the Alleluia Fund for Outreach

Alleluia Fund for Outreach
By:
Suzanne Willian, Advisor to the Bishop for Development

This Advent season, the Episcopal Diocese of Newark’s outreach ministry partners will offer a hot meal and warm bed to a homeless man on a cold night, provide diapers and formula to a mother not able to afford them for her infant, encourage an at-risk, low-income student to stay in school, and much, much more.

The Alleluia Fund for Outreach partners with congregation-based or -affiliated programs providing practical, “hands-on” support to those most vulnerable in our diocese and the wider world. Our Episcopal charity welcomes, helps, feeds, and shelters our neighbors in need and promotes health, fights disease, and responds to disaster internationally.

More than 30 programs applied for 2014 Alleluia grants with funding requests totaling $273,350. Your Advent gifts will have an immediate and direct impact on our response and go directly to support outreach and mission in the Episcopal Diocese of Newark, with no overhead or administrative costs. Key areas of support include food for the hungry, shelter for the homeless, education for youth and adults, and international outreach.

Participate in Episcopal charity this Advent season. Our gifts accomplish together what we cannot do separately and connect us to God’s work in our neighborhoods and communities.
