As summer winds down, preparations are in full swing for the 151st Annual Convention of the Diocese of Newark, which will take place Saturday, November 15 at Calvary Church in Summit.
The General Convention is the governing body of The Episcopal Church. Every three years it meets as a bicameral legislature that includes the House of Deputies and the House of Bishops, composed of deputies and bishops from each diocese.

The 150th Convention took place three days after the 2024 presidential election. Before calling Convention to order, Bishop Hughes asked all Convention attendees to enter into the following Covenant of Safety, based on the Baptismal Covenant.
