We are seeking a motivated and creative Communications Intern to join our team. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the world of non-profit communications, including social media management, content creation, and event promotion within the context of a faith-based organization.

Job Description:

As a Communications Intern, you will assist the Director of Communications with a variety of tasks to support our diocese’s communication efforts. You will help create engaging content for both digital and print platforms, assist with social media campaigns, and contribute to the development of materials that highlight the mission and activities of the diocese. This role is ideal for someone interested in building skills in communications, public relations, or non-profit work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in drafting and editing content for our e-newsletter, The VOICE Online; website updates; and social media posts.
  • Support the creation of promotional materials for diocesan events, services, and initiatives.
  • Help manage social media accounts (Facebook and Instagram) by curating content and scheduling posts.
  • Contribute to the development of multimedia content, including photography, videos, and graphics.
  • Contribute ideas for improving the diocese’s communications strategy.

Qualifications:

  • Interest in or knowledge of The Episcopal Church and its mission.
  • Strong writing, editing, proofreading, and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms and basic digital tools.
  • Experience with, or aptitude and willingness to learn, WordPress, Meta Business Suite, Constant Contact, and Canva.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • A plus, but not required:
    • Experience with graphic design, photography, and/or video editing.
    • Fluency in Spanish.

Hours and Compensation:

  • This is a temporary position through the end of 2025. Start and end dates are negotiable.
  • Approximately 7-10 hours per week.
  • Flexible hours, with opportunity to work remotely.
  • Compensation: $15.49/hour
