About

We are excited to invite high school students (ages 15–18) to take part in a pilgrimage to the Taizé Community in Taizé, France, from June 26 – July 5, 2026.

This unique and meaningful journey will begin with two nights in Paris, offering time to explore the beauty, history, and spiritual richness of the city, before traveling to Taizé. Located in the Burgundy region of France, the Taizé Community is an ecumenical monastic community known around the world for its simple living, prayerful worship, and deep commitment to reconciliation and peace. Each year, thousands of young people from across the globe gather there for a week centered on communal prayer, small group reflection, service, and building friendships across cultures and traditions.

The total cost of the pilgrimage is $3,000, which includes travel, accommodations, meals, and program expenses. Scholarships are available to help ensure that cost is not a barrier to participation. Spots are limited.

The pilgrimage group will include approximately 15 students and 3 adult chaperones traveling together as a supervised delegation.

All participants must have a valid passport. Passports must be valid through at least January 2027.

To reserve your spot, please RSVP by Monday, March 16 with a nonrefundable $1,000 deposit. (Two remaining $1,000 payments due April 30 & May 30)

If you have questions, please contact: Chris Whitaker at cwhitaker@christchurchshorthills.org.

Additional participant information sessions will be scheduled in the spring.

This pilgrimage is sponsored by the Diocese of Newark’s First Third of Life Commission.

We hope you will prayerfully consider joining this transformative and faith-filled experience.
