Please join Aura Polyphonica, New Jersey’s Renaissance Collegium, as they present sacred polyphony of great Spanish and Portuguese Renaissance composers. The concert will feature Tomas Luis de Victoria’s (c.1548-1611) ‘Missa pro Defunctis’ (Mass for the dead) for six voices, as well as motets by Alonso Lobo (c.1555-1617), Duarte Lobo (c.1565-1646), Juan Esquivel (c.1563-c.1613), and Cristobal de Morales (c.1500-1553).

Aura Polyphonica is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization that devotes itself to the research, rehearsal, and performance of Renaissance vocal music, specializing in sacred polyphony. The group was born out of the Rutgers Collegium Musicum in 2012 and is comprised of 22 singers from New Jersey, as well as the New York and Philadelphia Metro regions.
