About
In Spring 2025, the Diocese of Newark’s Anti-Racism Dialogues will be offered on three consecutive Saturday mornings from 9 AM to 12:30 PM:
Our Baptismal Covenant commits us to “strive for justice and peace among all people, and respect the dignity of every human being.” Yet we’re living in a country that is increasingly denying the reality of injustice and the dignity of many of our siblings. The Anti-Racism Dialogues provide an opportunity to learn, expand our perspectives, and engage in brave and sacred conversations about how race in this country has impacted ALL of us.
The re-vamped series is designed for ALL members of our diocese: clergy, lay leaders, church members. The more individuals who embrace a commitment to anti-racism, The Episcopal Church and the Diocese of Newark will be better able to live into the promises of our shared Baptismal Covenant and guide communities into becoming God’s beloved community.
The training is required for all clergy and those elected or appointed to diocesan offices, per Diocesan Canon 2.6. A participant must attend all three sessions in order to meet the requirements of completing anti-racism training.
Diocesan Canon 2.6: No person shall be eligible for election to any office at Convention, nor shall any person elected by Districts, or appointed to serve on Diocesan Council or other Diocesan Standing Committees, Commissions or Boards accede to that office, unless that person shall have first completed or arranged for the completion of anti-racism training as approved by the Bishop after consultation with the Diocesan body responsible for overseeing anti-racism dialogues.
Registration deadline: 5 PM on Wednesday, March 12
