In keeping with the terms of the diocese’s sale of 31 Mulberry to NJPAC, the diocesan staff are contractually obligated to vacate the building by January 31 – but the new offices in Livingston won’t be ready until sometime later in the first quarter of 2025. Here is how the transition will be handled to minimize disruptions during this interim period.
Where will the staff be during the interim?
Diocesan staff will continue working at 31 Mulberry until the diocesan offices close for Christmas break (Christmas Day through New Year’s Day). After the break, most of the staff will work from home until renovation of the Livingston offices is complete. You will continue to be able to reach staff members using their regular work emails and phone numbers, the same as when the staff worked remotely during the height of the pandemic.
What about mail?
We’ve established a Post Office Box to ensure we don’t miss any mail during the transition. Please send mail to PO Box 386, Livingston, NJ 07039. While mail addressed to the Newark offices will be forwarded to Livingston, we encourage you to start using the new PO Box now to avoid potential delays.
What will be happening at 31 Mulberry after the staff leave?
During January, we will be finalizing the packing for moving and determining what to do with unused furniture before NJPAC takes possession of 31 Mulberry on January 31. John King has sent an announcement to church leaders offering the opportunity to view and select from the office furnishings that aren’t being moved to Livingston. Viewings must be completed by January 6, then churches have until January 15 to arrange their own transportation of the furniture they are taking. Please contact John King at 973-430-9919 to arrange a viewing.
