These guidelines are intended for a single speaker delivering a short message via a phone-recorded video.
Technical guidelines
Phone should be horizontal, not vertical.
Phone should not be handheld but should be on a tripod, or propped on something steady such as a shelf, so there is no “wobble.”
Content guidelines
Speaker should be shown head and shoulders only.
Background should be reasonably simple and non-distracting.
Speaker should start by introducing themselves followed by introducing the topic of their video.
Length: Short and succinct is always best. To avoid rambling, it can be helpful to prepare in advance a list of the points you want to cover.
Record a few seconds of silence both before and after speaking. The video will be trimmed appropriately to avoid sudden stops or starts.
