Lenten Meditation -Sunday March 11

Lenten Meditations

John 3:16

The first line of scripture I ever learned was John 3:16. My Granny gave me this coin with that verse embossed on it. I carried it for years, but I didn't think much about it. Then later it was time to study to be confirmed and in our youth we had to memorize all the answers. There is a question of "what is Grace?" I learned the answer but again didn't think much about it.

Now as an adult Lent has become for me a time of spiritual house cleaning. Most times I think about all I've done wrong in the past year but thinking on Grace this year I'm reflecting on all God has given me. We say Grace is "unearned and undeserved". There are so many things I have to thank God for most of which are a result of God's grace and nothing to do with my doing. This Lent I'm saying "Thank you to God "
