Lenten Meditation for Monday, March 27, 2017

lenten candles

When reading the passage from John today about the miracle of the loaves and the fishes, I’m called to reflect on the appearance of scarcity and find the abundance through faith. There are many aspects of our experiences within our congregations, that for many of us, seem to be calling to us from a place of scarcity. The tendency to dwell in this place removes us from being with God, because we are called by our faith to trust in God. God is with us.

When we become firm in our faith and trust in God, we manage, time and again, to find the abundance and nourishment that we need. A project that seemed to be onerous either financially or through lack of people to manage it, will invariably find some way to be completed, when through faith we work together in community in God’s name. God does provide, it is up to you to live into the concept of abundance, and put your faith in God.
