Lenten Meditation for Maundy Thursday, April 13

It is always darkest before the dawn. God is with us. God knows of our frailties, of our sufferings, our anxieties and fears. Jesus demonstrated this for us on this very night. Jesus knew of the suffering to come. Jesus knew that this was inevitable in this world. It is always darkest before the dawn. God is with us. Jesus also knew of God’s love for us. Jesus knew of the love so deep, so broad, so high. Jesus was willing to suffer for our sins and give himself over to demonstrate fully God’s love for us. It is always darkest before the dawn. God is with us, even in the darkness.

1 Corinthians 10:14-17, 11:27-32
