Life is a journey

Lent is a journey

We are all on a journey. It's like a long hike. Sometimes we fall. Sometimes we need to take a rest. When we do, we have to pick ourselves up, brush ourselves off and continue on our way.

We can do this time and time again because we have hope. There is a prize at the end We will see God and Jesus.

John tells us in today's Gospel that six days before Passover, Jesus was at the home of Lazarus and his family. Even though he knew his journey on earth was nearly over, he continued to do his work and teach his disciples. What could have been going through his mind? Perhaps he had hope he would soon see his Father.

As we approach this last week before the crucifixion and the resurrection of Jesus, may we all have the same hope Jesus may have had.

Let us pray that as we continue to teach our disciples along our journey that at the end of our time on earth, we will soon meet our Father and Jesus.
