Alleluia Songs of Advent - Sunday December 17

Alleluia Songs of Advent

Psalm 126

Toni’s Kitchen has learned to dream.  We have seen the hand of the Lord, as fortunes are restored and families are moved from instability to stability, from homelessness to housed, from hungry to nourished.

Toni’s Kitchen sees the power of responding to the call to feed the hungry.  It draws us together, builds community and helps connect our fragile neighbors to valuable services.  We see those in need move to independent living and resilience. We are filled with praise and joy!

Our Healthy Backpacks provide kids in tutoring and mentoring programs with backpacks filled with healthy food. Families rely on this food, plan around it, and use it to ensure strong core nutrition.

We see the power of the Lord daily, and find joy in ministering to those in need. The number of volunteers in this ministry grows regularly.  This joy is contagious!

We are prayerful in supplication for those we serve, for the ability to continue to meet the needs of those who worry about feeding themselves or their families. Our prayers are answered in abundance.  We have gone from providing 52,000 meals in 2015 to over 100,000 meals in the current year.  Like the watercourses of Negev…

Families who have worried for their children are moved to strength and resilience. Day laborers, hoping for a days work, find healthy food their families.  Senior citizens gather for a meal and find help in planning their way forward.  Their joy is our song!

While the need continues, we are not discouraged.  We see the power of the Lord to respond and to nurture us all in the process.  The Lord has indeed done great things.  We are filled with joy and thanksgiving!
