A meditation on Psalm 16
.“When it rains it pours”, that old saying!
It has poured down buckets, torrents, and hail stones¸ recently. The larger culture has been constantly buzzing, whirring, clanging. In my own life, the rollercoaster ride of serious illness of a beloved family member has been pervasive. Yet, I never felt despair. My parish was uplifting, holding me up. Professionals did their job, kindness abounded, “all will be well, and all will be well”. Yet, when the situation stabilized, when I could stop, I needed to sleep for two days. Even then, when all that could have gone wrong came crashing down, I did not despair, my Saviour, Jesus had been with me the whole way, with my beloved family member. We had not been abandoned to the pit. I rested in hope.
