Join us on Saturday, October 24 at 9:30 AM for the all new Plan Ahead Workshop. Hosted by the Bishop’s Office on Stewardship, the Plan Ahead Workshop will provide church leaders with a road map for either getting started in planned giving, or re-vitalizing an existing planned giving program. The workshop will be held on Zoom.
Our guest presenter will be Jim Murphy, Managing Program Director at the Episcopal Church Foundation (ECF), where he oversees ECF’s Financial Resource development programs and resources, including endowment management, planned giving, and donor solutions. An expert on Planned Giving resources in the Episcopal Church, Jim holds a Certificate in Fundraising from New York University's School of Continuing and Professional Studies, an MA in Christian Spirituality from the General Theological Seminary, and a BS from NYU's Stern School of Business. Jim is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) and is a Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE).
This Plan Ahead Workshop will help churches in the diocese that are new to Planned Giving to get their programs up and running, as well as to assist more experienced churches to revitalize existing planned giving programs. Emphasis will be placed upon communicating with a congregation about various means of funding future ministry through instruments such as wills, trusts, retirement accounts, charitable lead and charitable remainder trusts, special asset gifts, etc.
Space is limited so register early! Each EARLY registering church will receive a copy of “Planned Giving on Demand,” a curated collection of planned giving resources that will serve as a vital resource in setting up an effective planned giving ministry.
