WHEN
About
In memory of those we lost.
In gratitude for those who helped.
As we near the five-year anniversary of the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, the diocese will gather to remember those who lost their lives during the pandemic and also to give thanks for all those who dedicated their time and talent to serve and support others during that extremely challenging time. On Saturday, March 8 at 10 AM, at Trinity and St. Philip’s Cathedral in Newark, we will gather in worship to do just that.
When we worship together, we identify what is important in our common life, what we want to bring to God’s attention and presence. We need to take a moment to bring to God our lament for those we have lost and our thanksgiving for the ways that we have supported each other.
Every congregation has been asked to identify at least one parish representative to participate in the service. Additionally, congregants can submit names to be included in the service based on the following criteria:
May this gathering be a time of healing, gratitude, and remembrance, as we come together in the presence of God to honor the lives lost and the selfless acts of love and service given during the pandemic. Thank you for your prayers, your presence, and your commitment to lifting up the stories of those who gave of themselves for the sake of others. May God bless you and your congregations as we prepare to come together in faith and love.
